Morphometry and topography of the coronary ostia in the dog

Abstract Introduction The purpose of this study was to perform a morphometric examination the coronary ostia, including their location in area aortic sinuses, and describe variations ostia structure domestic dog. Material Methods conducted on hearts 91 pedigree dogs both sexes, aged 1 18 years (median 9 years), with body weight from 1.2 65 kg 20.7 kg). Morphometric examinations were performed studied individuals, structures relation intercommissural lines determined. Results Three types distinguished, i.e . below line (type I), II), above III). In dogs, most common type I – found left artery 74/91 (81%) right 42/91 (46%). Morphological shown 36/91 (40%) presence accessory ostia. variation an ostium near artery, which 28/91 (31%). Conclusion results may be useful developing standards for procedures replace whole or part valve repair artery.
